With all of the teatoxing I'm doing at the moment, and also all of the revision I'm cramming in for my exam next week (or lack of), I decided that it would finally be a good time to have a whizz on my Breville VBL075 Blend Active.
Now this bullet blender was a fab present from the boyf that I was fully aware of before christmas, as for only a few days they went down to under £5 in Tesco. What an absolute bargain! It was a cheeky flash sale I think though, because they shot back up in no time. Still not expensive enough to break the bank though in case you're looking for a good blender.
(They're on sale now here, with £2 off at the moment)
(Apologies for the awful pictures, but being the dreary January that it is the natural light comes and goes before you've even blinked, so I've had to make do)
Now the blender is actually really good, and comes with a handy lid so that you can just whizz up all of your ingredients and take it on the go with you, and this is exactly what I did.
I made a lovely raspberry and banana smoothie, which although may not look the best was absolutely scrummy.
All it had in it was:
one banana
half an avocado
a handful of raspberries
a generous splash of semi-skimmed milk
a teeny bit of vanilla essence
and finally water added until I reached my desired consistency
Now obviously I'm no expert in the smoothie and health food area (as you can tell from my rough guide on the ingredients), but I just thought it was a nice idea to have a healthy smoothie with fruits and veg that you can find around your house. I was initially looking for smoothies that I could incorporate kale into, however all of these involved ingredients such as chia seeds and flax seeds, which I know are amazing for you but are just too expensive for me!
(the flash distorts the colour, it looked so much nicer I swear!)
Now I'm off to carry on revision with my lovely smoothie to keep me going. Let me know if you have any yummy ideas for new ingredients that I could try, apparently this blender blends soup fabulously too!

I love my blender i have never eaten so my fruit in all my life! I really recommend the Jason Vale smoothie book, it has great ideas for recipes in there.

thanks, I'll definitely take a look! I'm a bit fussy with my flavours so it'd be great to get a lot of different recipes to try.
