I've been constantly reading for the past few weeks about various different bloggers buying stacks and stacks of Makeup Revolution products and absolutely singing their praises, and now...I've finally caved too. I know for a fact that I'm not the first one to jump on this bandwagon, but who can blame anyone right? Bargain beauty combined with fabulous products and you have a match made in heaven!
I chose to do my mini shopping spree online, as unfortunately for me it wasn't until just AFTER I'd placed my order that I read how Makeup Revolution was in Superdrug stores absolutely everywhere. Rookie, I know. But all in all I think that the seven items I'd purchased plus P&P still came to around £15, which is just crazy for seven items of makeup.
[Left to Right: I Love Makeup Lip Geek in 'Ken will want me', I Love Makeup Lip Geek in 'Totally NOT boring', Amazing Eyeliner Waterproof, Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in 'Rebel', Amazing Lipstick in 'Treat', Amazing Lipstick in 'Bliss']
In addition to the products that you can see pictured, I also purchased a Pro E103 Eyeshadow blending brush, as from my previous few posts you might be able to tell that I'm starting to get hooked on playing around with palettes.
I'll be the first one to say it - I went a little lipstick crazy. Of all of the amazing different products to try (the range is constantly expanding with new and exciting things!), I got sucked in by the super low prices and different varieties and colours, particularly as lipstick is definitely my favourite addiction.
Now the two bright pink bullets are the 'I love Makeup Lip Geek' Lipsticks, which according to the website promise 'Serious LIP colours in Super Pigmented Shades'. I have to say, the whole bright and bold 'Makeup Geek' thing both with the packaging and the name did initially put me off (aren't we all past the excitable nerd glasses phase?). But, I'd read on a few different blogs that these lipsticks were actually really good, so I thought as they were £1 off (and at only £2.99 in the first place!) I had no reason not to.
The first shade I got was 'Ken will want me', which is a bright barbie pink which some have said turns into a nice rosey colour on your lips which isn't too brash, and the other was 'Totally NOT boring', which is a plummy shade perfect for the cold weather.
The other two lipsticks I'm not ashamed to say I got purely because they were only £1 each. I get way too excitable when I find super cheap stuff that has a great reputation, and this really was no exception. I picked up 'Treat' as a darker almost burnt orange nude to try out as a new basic (particularly as it looked like it would be the perfect suitor for my MAC liner in Nice'N'Spicy), and also 'Bliss' as a nice peachy colour to perhaps introduce for spring.
[So far from the swatches, I have high hopes]
Along with the eyeliner, which I'm not expecting to be anything other than your bog standard black liquid liner, I picked up a Salvation Velvet Lacquer in 'Rebel'. When I think of Rebel, my mind always instantly jumps to the MAC lipstick which is such a gorgeous pinky purpley shade, so when I saw that this one was similar I jumped at it. Also because it was mega cheap (obvs, its Makeup Revolution, duh!) and because I've been dying for matte velvet textured lippies foreverrr.
I haven't swatched it just yet, because I'm hoping to try it out with a full face soon, but I can safely say that when I tried it on my hand in the shop the patch that was on there lasted through a lot of washing up and pretty much a shower too! It took a lot of makeup remover to get it off, so I'm predicting it has fabby staying power, but is also a nightmare to remove. Hold the fort for a review on this one...
All the products look so great, and I'm super excited to try them all out in different looks, but there's still so many different things that I wish I'd got as well - particularly the Ultra Sculpt and Contour Kit which is apparently soooo good. Why don't you have a browse on the Makeup Revolution Makeup Revolution website and check out all the goodies for yourself?
Hope you've enjoyed the post!

I know, such an exciting purchase when you can get so much for your money! And treat is really nice, needs a few layers to get the colour perfect but it has such a lovely tone.
